James became known as old camel knees because James was known to be such a fervent prayer warrior.  Church history reports and records that James actually had callouses on his knees from where he spent so much time in prayer and so therefore he became known as old camel knees.  I don't know about you but that speaks of a life-changing experience, coming to know Christ having a desire to be in his presence some much.
